Customers can video call Somerset Council’s customer services team through VAL – Video Assistant Link.

VAL is a free video calling service which can be accessed from all Council Access Points (CAPs) and Libraries – that’s over 30 places in Somerset.

VAL can be used by anyone who wants to talk directly to a member of the Council’s customer services team face-to-face.

It’s simple to use and staff in the CAPs and Libraries are fully trained to support customers get set up to use VAL .

Cllr Federica Smith-Roberts, Lead Member for Communities, Housing and Culture, said:

It’s so important that customers have a variety of ways to talk our customer services team.

We understand that customers value speaking to real people which is why we want them to make the most of this digital face-to-face option and get the help they need.

VAL is available to use in all Somerset CAPs and Libraries, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
