On 23 June 2016, the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union (EU).
Following the EU Referendum result, Government has confirmed that:
- At present, the United Kingdom remains a member of the EU and we will continue to engage with EU business as normal and be engaged in EU decision-making in the usual way;
- Once Article 50 is invoked, we will remain bound by EU law until the withdrawal agreement comes into force; and
- The period between invocation of Article 50 and our eventual exit from the EU is two years unless the other Member States agree to extend.
We are awaiting updates from Government on forward arrangements for 2014-2020 EU funding programmes in light of the EU referendum result. We will provide further information here as soon as we hear more.
For any EU funding queries in the interim, we would advise that you contact the relevant EU funding programme directly.
