Overview
The partnership delivering SEND services in Somerset, Somerset Council, NHS Somerset and Somerset Parent Carer Forum like to hear from professionals, families, parent carers, children, young people and health colleagues. The purpose of the survey is to enable everyone (no matter their reason for being in contact with services) to reflect on the service they have received over the past year. To let us know what is working well and what improvements they would like to see.
SEND Survey 2024
We are preparing the questions and the survey aims to be open during October and November 2024.
Information on how to get involved will be shared here.
SEND Survey 2022
The survey was open from 13 June to 19 September 2022, with versions available for children and young people, their families, as well as health and council colleagues.
Responses to the survey were analysed, and each piece of feedback was considered and fed back to relevant departments. Early findings were presented to Somerset Scrutiny for Policies, Children and Families Committee.
It informed the content of our SEND Strategy published in June 2023.
Drawn from the feedback, the plan has four areas of work:
- Working together: I can achieve my outcomes because me, my family and staff working across SEND Services are working together.
- Getting help as early as possible: Me and my family can access the right support at the right time.
- Access to the right support and provision: I understand the support and provision that is available to me, and I can access it, if I need it.
- Preparing for the future: I have the right skills and options, according to my individual needs, to take control of my future and to achieve the ambitions important to me.
